As part of Rendall & Rittner's strategy for growth, we combine our portfolio's economies of scale with the exceptional personal service only a team structure can deliver.

History

Matt Rittner and Duncan Rendall were unhappy with the management of the development in which they lived, so they started Rendall & Rittner from home in 1990.  A year later they rented a small office in Wapping, East London, in due course taking on one further employee.

Our expansion is based on the recommendations of clients and lessees who have first-hand knowledge of what we can offer. Today, we continue to rely on word-of-mouth to increase our business instead of advertising.

The company has grown substantially in the past five years.  We now employ 120 internal staff and are responsible for 500 people onsite.  Duncan and Matt continued to rent more office space.  But by September 2010, the then 100-strong company had outgrown the Wapping office and moved to Portsoken House in the City of London.

Rendall & Rittner has established a specialist, professional and highly personal practice. Our track record in the management of high-quality developments is exceptional. Widely acknowledged as London's leading independent managing agent, we manage some 27,000 units in properties which range from traditional mansion blocks to substantial mixed-use developments throughout Greater London and in the North West.

Our total service charge collection for residential management now exceeds £70m.

Our strategy

We aim to combine the scale economies of our portfolio with the personal service that distinguishes a team structure. Independent of any property management conglomerate and free from corporate pressure, we're delighted to be able to offer value-added services.

At all times we comply fully with the Service Charge Management Code published by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Landlord and Tenant Act and Commonhold & Leasehold Reform Act legislation. We also carry comprehensive professional indemnity insurance (Appendix 12).

New Developments

In 2006 we set up our New Development department after recruiting a team experienced in providing consultancy advice and managing substantial and complex schemes. The team manages a range of properties, largely focusing on developments completed within the last 10 years.
