Case Studies

Royal Arsenal

At Royal Arsenal there are currently 1600 homes, 40% of which are assigned as affordable housing. Working with the lead housing association, Southern Housing Group, we have collated statistics pre- and post-implementation at this development, clearly demonstrating the effectiveness of our green and social initiatives.

Youth programme reports of reduced anti-social behaviour

  • Recycling increased from 18.8% in Nov 2007 to 42% in September 2010
  • Approx 70% of light bulbs changed to energy-efficient bulbs, up from approx 45% in October 2008

Through monthly partnership meetings, a Youth Initiative was created in response to the higher child density requirements of the affordable units.  While the housing association has led the activity events, Rendall & Rittner has been an enthusiastic supporter, both financially and in our time commitment.

Over a few years, this has seen increased private resident involvement in these initiatives, doing much to promote a community spirit.

We have also been able to demonstrate to all stakeholders - the developer, housing associations, lessees, tenants and residents - our genuine commitment to these types of scheme.
