GOING GREEN: RECYCLE WEEK – HOW WE WORK WITH DELPHIS ECO
Facilities Manager Janeece Hardy explains the benefits of using products from ecological cleaning company Delphis Eco at Grosvenor Waterside.
Some time ago Rendall & Rittner began working with Delphis Eco, supplying many of the cleaning products used by the company’s staff and contractors across a number of its property portfolio, resulting in an estimated annual saving of 477 tons of CO2 emissions. It was one of the company’s procurement initiatives in order to reduce service charge expenditure.
At Grosvenor Waterside, there are 918 units within nine buildings, so we have lots of internal and external communal areas to keep clean and in-check. At the development, our facilities team use a selection of products from multi-purpose cleaner, to limescale remover, reducing the amount of chemicals we hold on site.
As the products are ecologically-friendly and plant-based, it is great to know we are doing our bit for the environment. It is important that we ensure all entrances offer a clean and welcoming environment for residents and their guests. By using Delphis Eco products these communal areas provide a fresh, clean smell as well as being less harsh for the staff, who are using the solutions.
At Rendall & Rittner we also have a duty of care to our staff at this site, including our housekeepers and estate operatives. Harsher cleaning products can cause skin irritations and affect allergies, with Delphis Eco products we are safer because they are non-flammable and contain a reduced use of hazardous substances, colours and scents.
This Recycling Week we are urging residents to get involved to help our estates become greener too by offering a starter packs of Delphis Eco products to try them out in their own home at a special discounted price, with the chance to win a tour of Buckingham Palace. For more details, our residents should look to the R&R Online system. The company has also this month, launched the world’s first 100% post-consumer recycled plastic packaging across its complete range this month, making its products even greener.
