Our Investors in People (IIP) Platinum accreditation is something we are particularly proud of, so we are delighted to have been selected as finalists for two Investors in People Awards this year. The prestigious IIP awards are a celebration of the best in people management practices – they recognise the companies that make the work environment a better place.
The two categories in which we have been shortlisted are the Employee Engagement Award and the Social Responsibility Award, both crucial elements of the Rendall & Rittner business.
The unprecedented and in many ways challenging circumstances of the past six months have meant that as a company we have had to work even harder to keep our employees engaged and motivated. With the majority of head office staff working from home during lockdown and working practices for site staff amended, we are proud to have got through this period successfully with staff morale still high. Therefore being recognised for our standards of employee engagement, especially during these difficult times, means a lot.
Social responsibility goes hand in hand with our Employee Engagement Strategy – working for a socially responsible company is something that matters to staff and helps us attract and retain good employees. In a survey about R&R when asked ‘what are you most proud of?’ one staff member said: “From a professional perspective, I love being involved with the charity initiatives Rendall & Rittner take part in, particularly supporting local businesses and causes. I’m also really proud to work for a company that is leading the industry.”
Given this strong commitment to social, environmental and ethical principles is central to our company DNA, it is also fantastic that the IIP shortlist recognises this aspect of our business.
