In celebration of the Royal Wedding on Saturday 19th May, Rendall & Rittner hosted many community gatherings across a number of developments, including Goodmans Field, Riverlight, Chelsea Bridge Wharf, Grosvenor Waterside and Vista.
The Royal Wedding was a great opportunity for us to organise something fun and engaging for our residents, and celebrate such a momentous occasion in Britain together as a community. We welcomed more than 70 residents to our royal celebrations, with R&R staff members also getting involved in the big day.
Cardboard cut outs of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle quickly became the highlight of the day, with everyone taking photos with the happy couple. As so many people enjoy getting a photo with celebrities, and Prince Harry and Meghan were ever so slightly occupied, we thought we would give our residents the next best thing! Blue, white and red bunting was strung up around our developments and we offered tea and cake, while residents got the chance to get to know one another.
As Community Engagement Manager, my favourite part of the day was spending time with residents and staff members. I loved the hustle and bustle of moving around different developments and getting the chance to meet so many friendly faces as they enjoyed the royal festivities. The children absolutely loved the cardboard cut outs too, so it was nice to be able to provide something fun for all the family. This was a great way to provide something for our staff to get involved with as well, and build closer neighbourhood engagement across our developments.
At Rendall & Rittner, the role of Community Engagement Manager has been set up to oversee, facilitate and support development-wide events and community activities such as art groups, photography clubs and senior citizen meet-ups.
