Our Christmas Collection for Great Ormond Street Hospital
Supporting the amazing work of charities is very important to us and forms a key part of our ESG commitment. For many years now, the Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) Charity has been one of the charities that we support on an ongoing basis. This year, we have once again been collecting toy donations for children who unfortunately will be spending time in the hospital on Christmas Day.
Each year, we are impressed and grateful for the support that we receive from residents and clients across the developments we manage. This Christmas, we have reached record levels, collecting over £34,000 worth of gifts to donate to the hospital. Now in its 11th year, we have collected a total of £195,000 worth of gifts and donations through this initiative since its inception. We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has donated this year for their generosity in supporting this worthy cause.
With collections taking place at 67 developments across our portfolio, a team of six helpers from our Operations team travelled across London to collect the donations and drop them off at the GOSH Charity office in time for Christmas. We would like to thank Ecokleen for their assistance in making this year’s collection as efficient as possible, with sponsorship of two electric vehicles from their fleet and provision of team members to assist with driving and logistics.
GOSH is committed to making life at the hospital a little bit better for each of the 750 seriously ill children and young people seen each day. The charity helps fund research, medical equipment and facility refurbishments, as well as patient, family and staff support initiatives like family accommodation, music therapy and a dedicated play team.
