We are proud to have received a Five Star accreditation from the British Safety Council. This marks the seventh consecutive year that we have secured this accreditation which is recognised as the gold standard in occupational health and safety.
The accolade was awarded following the successful completion of a best practice Five Star Occupational Health and Safety Audit, designed to assess our commitment towards the continual improvement of our health and safety management systems and associated arrangements. Only companies that receive an evaluation score of above 92% are presented with the Five Star accreditation.
The audit process required us to undergo a comprehensive, quantified and robust evaluation of our occupational health and safety policies, processes and practices. This included documentation review, interviews with senior management, employees and other key stakeholders, together with sampling of operational activities. In total over fifty component elements were assessed, ensuring a rigorous and in-depth analysis of our performance against a wide range of indicators.
This year, we have also maintained our ISO 45001 accreditation. Combined with the British Safety Council Five Star award, this is a testament to the hard work of our health and safety team and the investment and emphasis we have placed upon continuously improving our systems and practices.
Mike Robinson, CEO British Safety Council, said: “The award of a five star grading following our occupational best practice Health and Safety Audit is an outstanding achievement and is reflective of a proactive organisation which is committed to continual improvement in its health and safety arrangements and managing risks to workers’ health, safety and wellbeing. Rendall & Rittner should be very proud of this achievement.”
Vanessa Brandham, Health and Safety Director at Rendall & Rittner, comments: “Ensuring the health and safety of everyone that comes into contact with our operations underpins everything that we do, and we are therefore constantly looking for ways to improve our policies, processes and training. We are proud to have once again been awarded a Five Star accreditation from the British Safety Council and would like to thank everyone who has supported us in achieving this. The feedback we have received from completing the audit will also prove invaluable in shaping how we continue to further improve our health and safety practices throughout 2026 and beyond.”
