Jo Dowsett goes 'Back to the floor'

Taking on the role of an Estate Operative, I spent my Back to the Floor Day at Cassio Metro, where I learnt about the complex range of challenges faced by the contractors, estate team and residents.  Due to some adverse weather conditions, suppliers were unfortunately behind schedule. As a result, it was clear that my focus needed to be dedicated to the assistance of the waste collection and general tidying up. Rolling up my sleeves, I helped the team by sweeping, cleaning and disposing of bulky waste.

Impressed with the efforts of everyone involved, I was more than happy to agree additional resources to assist in any damage that was caused by the weather conditions. I was pleased to help get the schedule back on track and being able to improve the overall appearance of the estate at no extra cost to the residents gave me a great amount of job satisfaction.

I was encouraged by the concierge process and systems which were very good. Morale was positive throughout, and it was clear to see that the team responded well to the challenges that they were presented with. Despite the small team structure at Cassio Metro, the team is highly effective. After watching the efforts of all involved, I look forward to offering this fantastic team more support by hiring others that fit into their collaborative way of working.
