I spent my Back to the Floor day at Riverside Quarter, where I worked as Assistant to the Head Concierge, James. Each day, the concierge team takes on a wide variety of tasks, and my Back to the Floor experience certainly reflected that.
Throughout the day, I learnt a lot about the day-to-day concierge operations at Riverside Quarter. After being trained on the logistics of our parcel management system, I logged parcel collections for a few of our residents. I was also taught how to record visitors’ vehicles on site and was later able to manage a contractor parking request. It was brilliant to greet several residents throughout the day as they returned home, which really emphasised the impact of the services that we provide.
I had the opportunity to work alongside the Security Office IT support team, setting up new monitors and checking all CCTV cameras were working correctly ahead of the evening handover to the night team. I also shadowed the Maintenance Operative, understanding how reported leaks are responded to and investigated.
My Back to the Floor experience has highlighted how knowledgeable our on-site teams are. During site inspections with James, I learnt a huge amount about the history of the development and the intricacies of the scheme that ultimately influence how we tailor our management approach.
Our on-site teams are often the first point of contact residents have with Rendall & Rittner. Throughout my day at Riverside Quarter, it was evident that James has exceptional communication skills, ensuring the other team members understood the tasks being allocated and responding clearly to any queries raised. The result is a team that genuinely enjoys working together to ensure the development is well managed for the benefit of all residents.
