Our Biggest Summer Yet: Celebrating Community Across Our Developments

From June through to September, a wide range of events and celebrations took place across our developments, creating opportunities for residents to meet their neighbours, enjoy shared experiences and celebrate the communities they call home.

While there were many fantastic events throughout the summer, we wanted to highlight nine standout celebrations that were particularly successful this year. Together, these events welcomed more than 2,020 residents, with everything from riverside festivals and community street parties to summer picnics and neighbourhood gatherings.

The Chain helped kick off the summer celebrations in June with a Community Street Party featuring a Community Bake-Off, dog show and resident-led DJ sets. More than 250 residents joined the event, which also supported a charity fundraiser for Ukraine.

August was an especially busy month, with more than 400 residents attending at Riverlight, over 360 at Peartree Way Village and an incredible 550+ joining the celebrations at Woodberry Down.

At Brent Cross Town, Caspian Wharf and Green Park Village, residents came together for relaxed summer picnics, with many bringing picnic blankets, homemade bakes and favourite dishes to share with their neighbours. One Brent Cross Town resident commented: “It was wonderful to finally meet so many neighbours – this is exactly what Brent Cross Town needed.”

Our onsite and Operations teams played an important role in bringing these celebrations to life. From ice cream and waffle machines at Green Park Village and Snow Hill Wharf, to gazebos, games and community stalls at Caspian Wharf, each event was shaped around its own community.

Riverlight and Peartree Way Village welcomed a range of food traders, while other developments offered a variety of activities, refreshments and entertainment.

The success of these events was made possible through a truly collaborative approach, with our Onsite, Operations and Property Management teams working together throughout the summer. From planning and promoting the events to encouraging resident participation and bringing ideas to life, colleagues worked as one team to create welcoming and memorable experiences that brought our communities together.

The feedback has been incredibly positive, with residents across the highlighted events asking to see similar celebrations return. It was particularly encouraging to see residents volunteering to become involved in future community activities themselves.

As a managing agent, our role goes beyond looking after buildings. We want to help create places where people feel welcome, connected and proud of the communities in which they live. This summer demonstrated what can happen when residents, onsite teams, local businesses and community partners come together. Whether through food, music, activities or simply the opportunity to meet a neighbour, these moments help strengthen connections and create a genuine sense of community.

Following such a successful summer, we are now looking ahead to our Q4 community calendar, with further opportunities to bring residents together through Halloween activities, our Winter Food Bank appeal and Christmas celebrations. We look forward to continuing to celebrate and support the wonderful communities across our developments.
