Taking place annually on the 22^nd of April, Earth Day serves as a powerful reminder of the work that we can all do to protect the environment around us. Having first started in America in 1970, Earth Day has grown and now encourages business, individuals, organisations and governments from around the world to participate. This year’s theme ‘Our Power, Our Planet’ focuses on the importance of clean energy as a resource to simultaneously support the planet whist empowering communities, driving economic growth and improving health quality.

Having first been recognised for our approach to sustainability in 2010, we have remained fully committed to developing responsible business practices and managing more sustainable developments. Whilst establishing our new vision, mission, values, and ten strategic priorities in 2023, we have ensured that sustainability will continue to be at the forefront of our focus as we develop and grow over the years ahead.

Earth Day takes place annually on the 22^nd of April to highlight the importance of protecting the environment. Beginning in America in 1970, Earth Day is now marked by individuals, organisations, businesses, and governments from around the world. This year’s theme, Planet vs. Plastics, throws a spotlight on the damage being caused by an over-reliance on plastics globally and fighting for a 60% reduction in virgin plastic use by 2040 via the Global Plastics Treaty.

Now celebrating its 50^th anniversary, The Tree Council is a national environmental charity that brings people together with a shared mission to care for trees and the planet’s future, helping to plant thousands of trees and hedgerows in community projects across the country each year. We are therefore excited to be joining forces with The Tree Council through their Tree Partner programme in order to help enhance landscapes across the UK.

We are proud to announce that an impressive 20,000 residents have now signed up for our e-communications platform. This achievement reflects our firm commitment to creating sustainable communities for people to live, work and play in.

Over the last 20 years, WRAP’s Recycle Week has been held annually to highlight the importance of recycling. This year, the event is being held from 16^th to 22^nd October with the theme ‘The Big Recycling Hunt’ looking to shine a spotlight on the recyclable items that are often missed at home.

On Friday 16^th June, we had an incredible evening attending the ARMA Ace Awards dinner in Old Billingsgate, London! As well as spending the night alongside a range of other industry-leading developers, managing agents, and suppliers, we were delighted to receive the first ever Environmental & Sustainability Impact Award in recognition of our commitment to reducing the environmental impact of our work.

Sustainability is a core business commitment at Rendall & Rittner and is a key part of our mission statement and business plan.  We know we can deliver much more than standard asset and property management services and can have a greater, more positive impact on the environment and local communities. 

In recent years, volunteers from Rendall & Rittner have taken part in a plethora of litter picks. Litter picks are a fantastic way to promote sustainability, support the environment and improve the cleanliness of the area for local residents to enjoy. During 2022, the team at Rendall & Rittner has once again completed a series of volunteering days to undertake litter picks at locations up and down the country.
